ARCHITECTURE
David Mayernik is a leader in the modern classical renaissance, and has designed projects in both the United States and Europe. His work is a rigorous response to program, site, and history, generating projects that are both classic and of their time. He is especially concerned with the dialogue between buildings, and their role in shaping public space. Durability of construction is a particular concern of his, for which the time-tested technique of masonry bearing wall is the paradigm. He orchestrates all the disparate aspects of a building project through his command of drawing, typically producing the renderings himself.
David Mayernik Ltd.'s built work in Europe has been realized in collaboration with a series of local architects (as Architects of Record) and construction supervisors; collaboration is a very viable way of integrating design expertise with local knowledge and experience. Collaborators include:
for TASIS England, BoradwayMalyan, Andres Kalik, AK Harris, Harris Partnership
for TASIS Swizerland, Studio Conza, Luca Pagnamenta, Elena Riciardo, Alessandro Preiàno; Direzione di Lavoro, Pierangelo Realini
Projects for TASIS Switzerland: Gymansium, Library,
