DECORATIVE ARTS | RESEARCH

David Mayernik is uniquely recognized in the contemporary renaissance as both a classical artist and architect. He is one of the most decorated classical architects of his generation, a winner of the Gabriel Prize, Fellow of the American Academy in Rome and the RSA, and Palladio Award winner from Traditional Building magazine. With then partner Thomas N. Rajkovich he won the International Competition for the Minnesota State Capitol Grounds, a project awarded an Arthur Ross Award from Classical America. In 1995 he was named to the decennial list of the top 40 architects in the US under 40.

As a classical artist David Mayernik has exhibited his work in numerous shows in the United States and with Lucy Campbell in London. He has executed in situ frescoes for churches in Switzerland and Italy, and for the buildings he has designed for TASIS Switzerland. His drawings and paintings have been published in American Artist magazine.

His long time study of the classical tradition has informed his research into the art and architecture of the Renaissance and Baroque, which he has published in various books and journals.
