David Mayernik worked in collaboration with some of the most well known decorators in New York during his years in the office of Ferguson, Murray & Shamamian. At the same time, he was refining his own approach to the classical interior, culminating in his work for the Kips Bay Showhouse in 1996. Currently, his work for TASIS Switzerland has included opportunities for modest interiors in his new buildings for the school, especially the Library and Theater.

As he does in all his practice, David Mayernik balances the realities of working in the practical realm with explorations of the ideal in theoretical projects that recover for contemporary culture the rich formal and symbolic potential of interior space in the classical tradition.
