David
Mayernik has been involved with significant urban design projects since his competition-winning entry for the Minnesota Capitol Grounds with Thomas N. Rajkovich in 1986 (that team won an Arthur Ross Award from Classical America for the project in 1987); since then he has pursued both developer-driven projects (like the mill village and mixed use developments shown here, in collaboration with Alberto & Associates and Pacesetter Custom Homes), and idea proposals to prompt innovative thinking about complex historical sites (like his project for Rome's via della Conciliazione, below). His firm's goal is to continue to push the bounds of our civic aspirations as he outlined in his recent book Timeless Cities.
